Financial Spreading API
From borrower documents to approved financial data.
SpreadSpace™ connects financial document extraction, mathematical validation, and analyst review in one commercial lending workflow. Integrate the data through the API, or embed the workspace so your analysts can review and finalize spreads inside your application.
Financial document extraction is only the beginning
Getting numbers out of a document is one step. Putting those numbers to work in a credit review requires context: which period they describe, which source supports them, what needs attention, and which figures the analyst has approved.
SpreadSpace brings extraction, spreading, review, and finalized financial data into a connected workflow. Your application can retrieve extracted results or consume a finalized spread, depending on where it sits in the underwriting process.
Deterministic extraction for supported financial documents
No-AI data extraction. No OCR. No offshore review shops. Better extraction pricing.
Supported document families include tax returns, business and personal financial statements, bank statements, debt schedules, and accounts receivable and payable aging reports. Bring borrower information into a structured workflow without building a separate document-processing system for each part of the credit file.

Mathematical checks before data moves downstream
For supported documents, SpreadSpace mathematically cross-checks extracted figures wherever the available document values allow them to be reconciled.
An extraction that does not meet validation requirements is rejected rather than silently passed downstream. When an extraction is retained despite a discrepancy, it includes an explicit notice for analyst review.
Analysts can inspect the source figures and review the exception before finalizing the spread. Mathematical checks support that review; they do not replace it.
Trace financial figures back to their source
In the SpreadSpace workspace and embedded review panel, analysts can open the supporting document and inspect a highlighted source value. Review happens alongside the spread rather than in a separate search through the credit file.
Embed the analyst workspace inside your product
Give analysts a spreading workspace or document-review panel inside the application they already use. SpreadSpace Embed brings the review experience into your product while your backend controls access.
Analysts review and finalize the spread in the embedded workspace. Your system receives a finalization event and retrieves the approved snapshot through the API.
Your engineering team integrates the workflow. Your analysts use it.
Approved figures with a clear version history
A finalized spread is a record of the figures an analyst approved, with periods and source-document references attached.
Finalization creates a versioned snapshot. Reopening a spread signals that it is being revised without replacing the earlier finalized snapshot. Your application can mark its stored copy as under revision and retrieve the new version when the analyst finalizes again.
That keeps the data in your system tied to a specific approved version, rather than whichever values happen to be on screen today.
Keep your institution’s credit memo format
Modernizing the workflow does not have to mean abandoning the memo your credit committee already uses.
SpreadSpace supports reproducing an existing PDF or Word memo as a shared company template. Analysts can bring spread visuals into the memo as vector graphics and write the narrative alongside them. Within the workspace, linked figures retain access to their supporting sources.
For downstream systems, the credit-memo API provides metadata, render status, and links to rendered PDFs. Memo authoring stays in the workspace or embed.
Integration features for the full workflow
SDKs for your backend
Use the TypeScript, Python, or C# SDK, or integrate with the HTTP API directly. Typed errors and documented responses help your team handle results and exceptions explicitly.
Idempotency and retry handling
Use idempotency support and SDK retry handling to recover from interrupted requests without treating every retry as a new operation.
Signed webhooks
Receive workflow events so your application can respond when documents are processed or spreads are finalized and reopened. Verify event signatures before acting on them.
API version pinning
Choose the API version your integration uses and manage upgrades deliberately.
Questions about the financial spreading API
Do we have to embed the workspace to use the API?
No. Your application can retrieve extraction results through the API without embedding the analyst interface. Analyst-finalized spreads are a separate output, created when an analyst finalizes in the SpreadSpace workspace or embed.
Are extraction results the same as approved spreads?
No. Extraction results are document data. A finalized spread records the figures an analyst approved. Your integration can distinguish those outputs instead of treating extracted information as automatically approved.
Can we test the integration before processing live documents?
Yes. The API quick start uses a test key and sample extraction results so your team can exercise the integration. Test mode is for integration testing, not a benchmark of extraction accuracy on your own documents.
